Course Prerequisites#
FlightPath can manage course prerequisites through the Prereqs module, which will automatically add a Prerequisites section to the bottom of the course edit form.
The Prereqs module is included by default in FlightPath 6 and later. If it is not available in your installation, contact your FlightPath administrator.
Simple Prerequisites#
A prerequisite means that a student must complete one course before they can be advised to take another course.
For example, if a student must complete BIOL 101 before taking BIOL 201, edit BIOL 201 and enter
BIOL 101as its prerequisite.
Complex Prerequisites#
Prerequisites become more complicated when multiple courses or alternative paths are required.
FlightPath supports prerequisite structures in which multiple conditions must be satisfied and individual conditions can contain alternatives.
For example:

means:
The student must complete BIOL 116 and either BIOL 106 or BIOL 110.
Each line represents another AND condition. Every line must be satisfied for the prerequisite requirement to be met.
Notice in this example that each course also has a minimum grade prerequisite requirement of C or better. Similar to editing degree requirements, minimum grades are specified by adding the grade in parenthesis after the course.
